Problem ze startem x na VMware Server

Witam,

Po instalacji X11 i po próbie uruchomienia trybu graficznego komendą startx pojawia się następujący komunikat:

Kod: Zaznacz cały

Fatal server error:
no screens found
X IO: fatal IO error 104 itd.

Czy przyczyna może tkwić w tym, że system jest zainstalowany na VMware?

musisz skonfigurowac xorg.conf

Używanie funkcji "Szukaj" nie boli. Wszystko jest opisane tutaj:

Xorg -configure 

to stworzy plik xorg.conf.new w katalogu root
którego potem skopiujesz do /etc/X11 i zmienisz nazwe na xorg.conf
dopiszesz tylko analogicznie do swojego pliku:
DefaultDepth
i Modes

czy jakie tam rozdzielczości wolisz

Przepisałem plik tak jak wygląda w Ubuntu, ale dalej fatal error. Tym razem czepia się Intela. Zastanawiam się czy nie musi być wpis sterownika VMware (tak domyślnie podaje konfigurator Debiana).

Plik jest z Ubuntu więc jest trochę inny np.: inaczej pisze się rozdzielczości, ale zostawiłem tak jak w Debianie.

I teraz komunikat po starcie x jest taki:
pomijam część danych

undifined device Intel Corp... (to co w pliku powyżej) refered enced by Screen "Default Screen" 

Przypominam system jest zainstalowany na VMware - Debian, fizycznie - Ubuntu.
