Ogólnie to jest wszystko dobrze, rozdzielczość, itd. pasują, ale odświeżanie muszę mieć 50, a do wyboru mam tylko 60 (przy 60 kawałek ekranu obcina), co zmienić/dodać w xorg.conf?

Slax, prawdopodobnie, podczas boot-u systemu, wykonuje xconf - autorski skrypt generujący bardzo poprawne pliki konfiguracyje xorg-a, zatem edycja konfiguracji może być nadpisywana.

Moim zdaniem, o ile istnieje taka możliwość, powinieneś zedytować konfigurację bootloadera systemu i przekazać w parametrach startowych jądra, odpowiednie flagi dla xconf-a nt. odświeżania.
