Nie mogę ustawić większej rozdziałki niż 640x480, a chciałbym 1440x900.

A Usunięcie xorg.conf i wydanie komendy nvidia-xconfig nie załatwia sprawy?

Nie. Jest tak samo.

A nawet gorzej.....

W internecie znalazłem coś takiego:

Press alt+F2
Kod: Zaznacz cały
gksu displayconfig-gtk
In the place where you specify your computer monitor model, make sure you check the wide screen monitor check box.
Once checked, you should find the correct resolution in the drop-down list.

A jak nie to sam musisz szukać dalej albo poczekać aż ktoś mądrzejszy się odezwie.

1. Jaka karta?
2. nvidia-xconfig trzeba odpalać z uprawnieniami roota.

Nie wiem czy to coś zmieni, ale wpisz w konsoli z poziomu roota (usunie ci też logo NV przy starcie)

lamek, w debianie nie ma tego programu a nie wiem w jakim pakiecie się znajduje
