monitor samsung 206bw i popprawna rozdzielczo

Witam

Mam problem z poprawnym skonfigurowaniem rozdzielczości w x'ach pomimo, że po skonfigurowaniu poprzez komendę dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg i wybraniu rozdzielczości 1680x105, to gdy odpala się xserver to maksymalna rozdzielczość ekranu jest 1400x.... Przez co format obrazu jest w proporcji 4:3, a nie 16:10, ciekawe jest też to, że gdy wejdę w menu monitora to pokazuję, że używana jest rozdzielczość 1680x1050, czy ktoś z forumowiczów może minie naprowadzić jak rozwiązać ten problem.

niestety nie pamiętam czy Etch czy też Lenny,
a monitor to Samsung SyncMaster 205BW i działało OK.

Mam ten sam monitor, podsyłam poprawnie skonfigurowany xorg.conf. Może pomoże

Jeśli masz grafikę nvidii to nie musisz nic przerabiać i powinno hulać
