Brak rozdzielczości 1280x800

Nie mogę zmienić rozdzielczości na 1280x800 na świeżo co zainstalowanym Debianie 8 klikając: „Podgląd”, „Wyświetl programy”, „Ustawienia”, „Ekrany” gdyż jedyne dostępne opcje to 1024x768 i 800x600. Równolegle zainstalowany na tym komputerze (Fujitsu-Siemens v5535) jest Windows XP i tam taka rozdzielczość na sterownikach od producenta jest dostępna i ustawiona

i idąc dalej za poradą z powyższego linku, (choć nie wiem, czy to sprawdza kartę graficzną, bo „sound” w nazwie budzi wątpliwości. ;p) wpisałem znów jako root:

Ponieważ rozdzielczość 1280x800 na pewno była i jest cały czas na tym komputerze obsługiwana na Windows XP przeszedłem w powyższym poradniku do części:

„Dodawanie obsługiwanych, ale nierozpoznanych przez xrandr rozdzielczości ekranu”.

Wpisałem jako root:

Więc wpisałem już jedynie proforma jako root:

i otrzymałem zwrot:

Próbowałem coś czytać o konfiguracji bodajźe xorg.conf, o zamkniętych sterownikach do Nvdii, bo to głównie „wyskakuje” na ten temat, choć ja takiej karty nie mam i ogólnie próbowałem się „doszkalać” przez cały wieczór, ale poległem. Bardzo proszę o pomoc i z góry dziękuję.

Ps. nowy jestem na forum i nie wiem jeszcze jak komendy z terminala cytować, żeby się tak fajnie inaczej wyświetlały niż reszta tekstu, ale mam nadzieję, że mimo wszystko post jest w miarę czytelny.

Zbuduj sobie sterownik.

Przyznam, że to "budowanie sterownika" mnie przeraziło. Kompletnie nie wiedziałem, jak się za to wziąć. Poradziłem sobie tak, że zainstalowałem jakiś plik .deb i dodałem wpis do xorg.conf. Po restarcie systemu już 1280x800 było dostępne. Jak już będę bardziej kumaty to pewnie wtedy ogarnę tę Twoją metodę - na razie to ze mnie nowicjusz wśród nowicjuszy. Ale dzięki za poradę.
