Posiadam serwer HP ProLiant ML110G6 ze sprzętowym kontrolerem raid Smart Array P212 (dwa dyski 2TB w macierzy RAID1).

Opis problemu
Podczas restartu maszyny lub wyłączeniu i ponownym włączeniu zamiast załadowania programu rozruchowego grub, pojawia się informacja:

i nic się nie dzieje tzn, nie pojawia na ekranie (Ctrl + Alt + Del nie działa), serwer trzeba wyłączyć przyciskiem i włączyć jeszcze raz. Dzieje się to w losowo wybranych uruchomieniach, czasem 3x pod rząd.
W logach oczywiście nic nie ma, ponieważ jeszcze system nie zdąży się uruchomić. W biosie, w logach jest "czysto".

Podejrzewam, że powodem jest to, że pomimo tego iż dyski są w konfiguracji raid1, to grub jest tylko na pierwszym dysku, a kontroler próbuje ładować z drugiego. Niestety nie znalazłem sposobu aby grub został zainstalowany na obydwu dyskach.

Jeżeli są potrzebne jeszcze jakieś szczegóły dotyczące konfiguracji, chętnie ich udzielę.

Jeśli jest to w pełni sprzętowy kontroler to system widzi dyski jako jedno urządzenie. Proponowałbym popatrzeć czy nie ma aktualizacji firmware dla serwera (a tym samym kontrolera).

Nie jestem tego pewny. Gdzieś kiedyś czytałem (postaram się to znaleźć), że przy sprzętowym raidzie grub naprawdę jest tylko na jednym dysku.

Pojawił się jeszcze jeden problem. Gdy zaczynam kopiować duże pliki z katalogu do innego katalogu i/lub na inną partycję, albo tworzę archiwum dużego katalogu, to na czas wykonywania tych operacji serwer jest praktycznie niedostępny, apache jakby wisiał (oczekiwanie na załadowanie stron). Co dziwne użycie pamięci i procka w normie, tzn. nie widać żeby coś obciążało serwer mocno (w oparciu o htop).

Wydaje mi się to nieprawdopodobne, a to z racji tego, że sprzętowy kontroler RAID wystawia do systemu operacyjnego już gotową macierz - jedno urządzenie.

Mała poprawka. Uruchamiam serwer, pojawia się grub i przy próbie ładowania jądra czasami zawiesza się w momencie wyswietlania komunikatu:
