Nie ma tu nic "innego". To jest domyślna konfiguracja OpenSSH dla Debiania, za wyjątkiem banera. Chyba, że coś się zmieniło od wersji 5.0 Debiana.
Przy tym pytaniu wymiękam.
Czy chodzi Ci o PAM i tego czy używam LDAP/SQL/plików? Jeśli tak, to używam standardowych plików psswd/shadow/itp.

A co masz w pliku /var/log/auth.log? Może dobrze jest napisane ale nie tam sprawdzasz gdzie należy?
Ja te informacje wyciągam właśnie z pliku /var/log/auth.log.
