A masz w ogóle menu uruchamiania systemu - menu Gruba? A może menu jest ukryte? To jest w końcu czysty Debian czy jakaś przeróbka / fork?

Od początku uruchamiania komputera wciskaj Shift. Zobacz, czy pojawi się menu Gruba.

Zainstalowałem kubuntu 14.04.1.Kolega ma 2 dyski jeden z linuxem a drugi dla windowsa podczas uruchamiania musi włączać boot menu i wybrać ten dysk w linuxem.Po wybraniu linuxa, wciśnięcie shifta nic nie pomaga.

a knoppix? grml? ruszają?

może trzeba porównać konfigi kerneli spod działającej i niedziałającej dystrybucji...
Może w systemach debianopochodnych nie jest wkompilowana jakaś obsługa sprzętu?
Jakie są wersje kerneli odpalane tu a tam?

Niesprawdzałem jeszcze tych dystrybucji.
