Witam.

Jako że jestem świeżym użytkownikiem Linuksa postanowiłem zainstalować sobie najnowsze sterowniki do swojej karty graficznej NVIDIA GF 7900 GS czyli serii 7x pod Linuksa 32 bitowego

Zgodnie z poradnikiem Kaki
Wszystko przebiegło całkowicie bezproblemowo, sterowniki się zainstalowały ale X-y już nie chcą ruszyć i nie za bardzo jeszcze wiem dlaczego pewnie jakaś pierdółka ale może wy będziecie w stanie pomóc.

Aby było wiadomo o co biega podaję log X-ów:

Czy polecenie

modprobe nvidia
czysto wchodzi?

Bo po za niezgodnoscią wersji gcc nie widzę w tym logu żadnego błędu.

Druga sprawa czy ten sterownik jest odpowiedni?
Tutaj trudno mi powiedzieć bo mam znacznie starszą kartę grafiki.

W tym sęk że gładko, co prawda nic się nie wyświetla ale polecenie przyjmuje.
Więc kompletnie nie wiem co jest nie tak i dlaczego te x-y nie chcą działać?

Tak, ale przewinął się niedawno wątek o problemach z wersją 185.18.36.
Można sprawdzić 185.18.31, aby na wstępie tę kwestię wykluczyć. (link)

A co to za sterowniki bo nie wiem czy pasują do mojej 7900 GS?

Dobrze, wstępnie kwestie sterowników 185.18.31 wykluczam, bo przed chwilą je zainstalowałem i nadal jest to samo żadnej poprawy.

Sterownik 36 jest na pewno odpowiedni bo jest do serii 7xxx czyli miedzy innymi do mojej 7900 GS.

to ciut wcześniejsza wersja sterownika.
Sprawdź czy się poprawnie zainstaluje.

Wówczas będziemy wiedzieć czy problemem nie jest właśnie ta wersja sterownika, którą instalowałeś.

Toż to przecież zrobiłem i opisałem w poprzednim poście.

¯adnej poprawy... no chyba, że najpierw trzeba odinstalować stare, a na ich miejsce zainstalować nowe, ale to chyba niekonieczne, bo instalator się pytał czy aby na pewno zainstalować sterowniki *31 na miejsce *36.
