Też tak miałem po postawieniu squeeze'a jakieś 2 tygodnie temu i wystarczyła mi edycja /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Dopisałem do niego:

Witam. Problem z touchpadem leży w jego sterowniku, a mianowicie w xorg-input-synaptics w wersji 1.2. Ja rozwiązałem to dodając repozytoria ze sterownikami z ubuntu i obecnie mam

ale można też cofnąć ten driver do poprzedniej wersji z repozytorium debiana. Uzywając tego z repozytorium sida miałem ten sam problem co Jacob77. Ewentualnie możesz uzywać gsynaptics i dodać ten program do autostartu środowiska

ale to obejście problemu nie rozwiązanie. Można też pozbyć się hala i dodać odpowiedni wpsi do xorga. Wygeneruj go sobie

Nie warto sobie psuć systemu sterownikami z Ubuntu. Twój problem ze sterownikiem z Sida, był spowodowany ostatnimi zmianami w xservererze. Teraz już wszystko jest dobrze i w Sidzie touchpad konfiguruje się za pomocą xorg.conf.d lub xorg.conf. Hal nie ma z tym nic wspólnego, więc nie mam pojęcia dlaczego podpowiadasz jego usunięcie. Używanie gsynaptic również jest zbędne.

osiągam całkiem niezłe wyniki na glxgears. Ostatnio na forum było o słabej jakości otwartych sterowników w połączeniu z KMS. Właśnie te sterowniki rozwiązały mi problem. Polecam spróbować. U mnie działa to bardzo dobrze.

Hal nie ma NIC wspólnego z konfiguracją touchpada w tym momencie! Kolega jacbob77 używa KDE, a tam Hal jest nadal potrzebny do zarządzania energią, czy też do montowania urządzeń. I bardzo dobrze ponieważ udisk i upower dopiero teraz zaczynają przypominać coś użytecznego... Temat jest o touchpadzie, więc o sterownikach do grafiki pisz w temacie o grafice.

A napisałem tylko dlatego tych sterownikach, bo wcale nie zaśmiecają systemu.

Oczywiście, że sobie radzisz, ponieważ można używać KDE bez Hala, ale tak jak Ci wspomniałem, utrudniasz sobie zarządzanie energią i montowanie urządzeń. Chyba, że masz "końcówkę" dla Solida obsługującą u* , która jeszcze nie została napisana, ponieważ kod u* dopiero w ostatnim czasie się ustabilizował i do czegoś się nadaje. Polecanie niestabilnych jak i łatanych na ślepo sterowników, zaśmieca system, jeśli ktoś nie wie co one zmieniają.

Witam.
Czy mógłby ktoś wrzucić zawartość swojego xorg.conf?
Chcę utworzyć ten plik, ale po wpisaniu przykładów znalezionych w sieci nie działa mi KDE. KDM się uruchamia, albo na siłę go uruchamiam poprzez:
