Sterowniki NVIDIA i kernel 2.6.30

Witam

Niedawno zakupiłem kartę NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT mając nadzieję że nie będzie problemów z kartą graficzną a tu jajo. Sterowniki zainstalowałem w wersji 190.42 wspomagając się tym artykułem http://kaka.ovh.org/howto/nvidia_drivers/ No więc po instalacji reboot i... pad serwera X. Kombinowałem z tymi sterownikami prawie do 3:00 w nocy i nic mi nie wyszło. Może ktoś z was będzie wiedział co zrobić.

Instalacja sterowników przebiegła bezproblemowo (nie dostałem ¯ADNEGO komunikatu o błędzie)

Jak już napisałem komputer działa pod kontrolą Debiana Squeeze z kernelem 2.6.30. System jest uruchamiany z parametrem acpi=off Poza tym w komputerze znajduje się inna karta graficzna (Jeśli dobrze pamiętam to VIA UniChrome) której nie można wyłączyć w BIOSIE ale i tak nie jest do niej podłączony żaden monitor.

Dzisiaj rano znalazłem jeszcze coś takiego:

If possible, configure your system such that your graphics card does not share its IRQ with other devices (try moving the graphics card to another slot if applicable, unload/disable the driver(s) for the device(s) sharing the card's IRQ, or remove/disable the device(s)).
Tylko że ten tekst dotyczy sterowników dla systemu Solaris i nie posiadam drugiego złącza PCI-E do którego mógłbym przełożyć kartę. Mój Geforce jest na pewno sprawny bo pod windowsem działa bez problemu.

Jakieś pomysły na rozwiązanie problemu?

Sposób na generowanie xorg.conf - Lenny/Sid - spróbuj tak wygenerować xorg.conf.

Posiadam dokładnie taką samą kartę graficzną (GF9500GT). Nie miałem z nią problemów na sterownikach od producenta (.run) ani na na tych od społeczności (pakiety instalacyjne).
Mamy takie same karty, może porównaj sobie z moim xorg.conf, chodź zasadniczych różnic nie widzę:

Po zainstalowaniu sterowników uruchamia Ci się powłoka graficzna?

Próbowałem zarówno uruchomić serwer z xorg.conf jaki mi przesłaliście jak i ze sposobu do którego dostałem link od malego. Niestety bez efektów. Kiedy uruchamiam system wszystko jest dobrze do chwili kiedy startuje GDM. Obraz wtedy robi się czarny na 3-5 sekund po czym wraca do konsoli na 2 sekundy i od nowa gaśnie ekran. Cały proces powtarza się 3-4 razy po czym dostaje w konsoli ładny komunikat z informacją o wysypaniu serwera. Log z padnięcia serwera wkleiłem w moim pierwszym poście. Zastanawiam się czy nie zrezygnować z wersji Squeeze na rzecz Lenny (stable).

Wróciłem do wersji Lenny. Zainstalowałem icewm i xdm. Sterowniki instalowałem z repozytorium i ze strony nvidii i żadne nie działały. Oto wyciąg z Xorg.0.log:

Nie może załadować modułu GLX. Wygląda na to, że przydadzą się logi kernela.

(Przepraszam, że nie dałem go bezpośrednio na forum ale wiadomość była za długa i nie mogłem dodać posta).

Przeglądając ten plik zobaczyłem pod koniec, że NVRM (domyślam się, że to jest sterownik nvidii) ma problemy za ACPI. W pierwszym poście napisałem, że mój system startuje z acpi=off. Bez tego parametru podczas ładowania się instalatora Debiana Lenny (jądro 2.6.26) wyskakiwał:

Czy powrót do wersji Squeeze i jądro 2.6.30 może rozwiązać problem z ACPI? Na początku gdy opisywałem swój problem jądro 2.6.30 ładowałem z acpi=off i nawet nie sprawdzałem, czy system pójdzie normalnie bez tego parametru (nie sądziłem, że ACPI może być powodem problemów ze sterownikiem). ¦ciągam obraz z Ubuntu 9.10, jak go tylko wypale to zobaczę czy ruszy on jako livecd. Jeżeli nie ruszy "normalnie" to oznacza że aktualizacja do nowszego jądra nie będzie miała sensu. Znacie może jakieś inne sposoby na rozwiązanie problemów z ACPI (uruchamianie jądra z innymi specjalnymi parametrami, łatami itp.)?

Po pierwsze, problem polega na tym, że sterownik w ogóle nie może się skontaktować z kartą - przerwania nie docierają. Oto sekcja xorg.log z Twojego pierwszego posta, która ci to mówi:

To oznacza, że z całą pewnością nie jest to wina xorg.conf.

Powodów może być kilka:
  1. Po prostu niedokładnie włożyłeś kartę i coś nie styka do końca.
  2. Konflikty przerwań, wklej:

    /proc/interrupts
  3. Niedziałające ACPI.

Z góry przepraszam że się przez tyle czasu nie odzywałem ale nie miałem zbytnio czasu. Oto co ustaliłem

Problemem jest faktycznie ACPI. Niestety nie miałem czasu żeby bawić się w kombinacje alpejskie z parametrami jądra (potrzebowałem na gwałt komputera z działającym linuksem i akceleracją 3D ).

Obecnie korzystam z ubuntu 9.10 (kernel 2.6.31) i nie mam żadnych problemów z systemem i serownikami do karty (wszystko poszło w "podręcznikowy" sposób bez kombinowania). Jeśli jednak ktoś ma więcej czasu ode mnie to niech jako wskazówkę potraktuje te notke:

This can be caused by a variety of problems, such as PCI IRQ routing errors, I/O APIC problems or conflicts with other devices sharing the IRQ (or their drivers).

If possible, configure your system such that your graphics card does not share its IRQ with other devices (try moving the graphics card to another slot if applicable, unload/disable the driver(s) for the device(s) sharing the card's IRQ, or remove/disable the device(s)).

Depending on the nature of the problem, one of (or a combination of) these kernel parameters might also help:

pci=noacpi don't use ACPI for PCI IRQ routing
pci=biosirq use PCI BIOS calls to retrieve the IRQ routing table
noapic don't use I/O APICs present in the system

Niestety nie mam obecnie czasu na zabawę z parametrami jądra i obecnie siedzę na ubu 9.10 ale kiedyś jak znajdę trochę więcej czasu to pokombinuje z debianem (z żalem rozstałem się z nim instalując ubuntu) :-(
