Popatrzylem i rzeczywiscie jest uzywany sterownik nv. Zrobione jest to bardzo fajnie - z logow wynika, ze wszystko sam wykrywa (m.in. generuje modeline, dostepne rozdzielczosci, vrefresh, hsync itd.).

Czyli wszystko co zostalo usuniete z pliku konfiguracyjnego jest w nim juz niepotrzebne, bo te parametry sa wykrywane automatycznie.
Wiec ogolnie nie ma czym sie martwic, bo nie jest to bledem tylko po prostu zmiana filozofii (moim zdaniem dobrą).

U mnie też niby jest to wykrywane automatycznie ale czy jest to dobrze? Chyba nie bardzo, mam Gforca 7600 i Xorg ustawiał mi po instalacji taką rozdzielczość i odświeżanie że mało co mi oczy się nie wypaliły. Oczywiście w żaden sensowny sposób nie umiałem tego wstępnie zmień. Po instalacji zamkniętego sterownika Nvidi maksymalną rozdzielczość mogę ustawić 1024x768, odświeżanie 53 Hz. Jak konfiguruję to za pomocą narzędzia Nvidi jest wszystko fajnie, ale po resecie wszystko wraca do poprzedniego stanu rzeczy.

Mozesz zmienic standardowo - w kde we wlasciwosciach pulpitu na przyklad - przy autmatycznym wykryciu beda dostepne wszystkie obslugiwane rozdzielczosci do wyboru, bo przy starcie jest to wykrywane

U mnie pojawia sie inny problem. W Lennym nie wystepowal, wszystko poszlo bez problemow.

Teraz mam Sida, jajko 2.6.26-1-686

Sterowniki do GeForce 2MX/MX400, legacy 96xx, instalowane z repo, w/g poradnika na forum odniosnie tego rodzaju instalacji.

Wszystko ladnie pieknie, sterowniki sie zainstalowaly, zmontowalem sobie xorg.conf z dwoch polecen: dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg oraz X-configure, wprowadzilem opisane na stronie nVidii zmiany.

BLAD -> backup

Odpalilem narzedzie nVidii : nvidia-xconfigure

BLAD -> backup.

Za kazdym razem log wyglada tak samo, system zachowuje sie identycznie- pojawias ie logo nVidia, powinien sie zaczac ladowac panel logowania, ale wraca do tty1, potem znow logo i tak 3 razy.

Masz ostro cos namieszane. Proponuje ci wywalic sterowniki z opcja purge, wywalic calego xorga z opcja purge. Potem zainstaluj jeszcze raz xorg i jeszcze raz sterowniki.
Do wygenerowania xorga uzywaj tylko i wylacznie narzedzia nvidii. Masz strasznie stara karte, ale moze strerownik z instalatora nvidia dla 4 MX zadziala? Warto sprawdzic.

Karta jest średniowieczna, to fakt ;] Ale wlasciwie, po co mi nowa ;p

No ale do rzeczy - dobrze, sprobuje tej metody, wyczyszcze wszystko do zera i zaczne od poczatku. Niestety na razie potrzebuje komputera, wiec chyba dopiero w niedziele sie za to wezme.
Sterowniki lepiej instalowac z repo? Czy moze sprobowac z instalatorem NV? Najnowsza wersja legacy to 96.43.07. Z nimi rozne klopoty dziwne wystepowaly, ale to moze przez to, ze naswinilem w xorgu. Wie ktos moze czy juz jakas latka do nich wyszla? Do mojej wersji kernela: 2.6.26-1

Swoja droga, wiem skad mogl sie zrobic balagan w xorgu. Instalowalem Sida awaryjnie, zaczalem od netinstall etcha, a pozniej jak zmienialem repozytorium do aktualizacji popelnilem blad w jednym znich - moze przez to zrobilo sie zamieszanie w pakietach?

Co do tej reconfiguracji Xorga, to moge powiedzie tak.
Mam stary komp z debianem 32 bitowym i tam ten blad pojawial sie i znikal z roznymi wersjami xorga, dodam rowniez ze to nie jest wina tylko xorga poniewaz mam teraz ostatnia wersje i daje sie przez dkpg reconfigurowac, problem lezy w jakiejs brakujacej paczce tylko nie mam pojecia w ktorej.

Teraz pisze z wersji 64 bit wiec nie mam polskiego ukladu klawiatury [walcze z xorgiem, upgrade sterownikow nvidia].

Jeszcze nic z tym nie robilem, brak czasu.

Tez rozwazalem, ze moze chodzi o brak paczki, ale czytajac te logi itd. nie umiem wywnioskowac jakiej? Wszystkie skladniki wymieniane na forum nvidii mam.
Moze jest jakies dobre forum poswiecone xserverom? Natknal sie kiedys ktos na cos takiego?
